Tenant Payment Terms
Before you pay rent through Pangisha.
These terms explain what happens when a tenant starts an M-Pesa or card rent payment from the tenant portal.
Effective date: 18 June 2026. These terms apply to rent payments started from the Pangisha tenant portal. They sit alongside the Pangisha Terms, Privacy Policy, Billing and Refund Policy, and any payment provider terms shown during checkout.
1. Check the Amount First
Before starting a payment, confirm that the building, unit, tenant details and rent amount shown in the tenant portal are correct. If anything looks wrong, contact your landlord or property manager before paying.
2. Pangisha Is a Payment Workflow, Not the Landlord
Pangisha helps route payment requests, checkout links, confirmations and receipts. Pangisha does not decide whether rent is owed, whether a balance is correct, whether a late fee applies, or whether a tenancy dispute is valid. Those matters remain between the tenant and the landlord or property manager.
3. M-Pesa Payments
When you choose M-Pesa, Pangisha may send an STK Push to the phone number you provide. Only approve the prompt if the amount, recipient and transaction details look correct. M-Pesa processing depends on Safaricom, the payment service provider, network availability and account status.
4. Card Payments
When you choose card payment, Pangisha redirects you to Paystack checkout. Paystack controls the hosted checkout page and processes card details under its own terms, privacy notices, security checks and provider rules. Pangisha does not store your full card number or CVV.
5. Receipts, Confirmation and Failed Payments
A payment is treated as confirmed in Pangisha only after the payment provider returns a successful confirmation that matches the tenant, amount and reference. If a payment fails, times out, is reversed, is disputed, or cannot be verified, it may not appear as paid until the issue is resolved.
6. Fees, Reversals and Refunds
Provider charges, bank fees, card fees, mobile money charges, reversals, chargebacks and refund timelines may depend on the payment provider and the landlord or property manager's policy. Rent refunds and tenancy payment disputes should be raised with the landlord or property manager first.
7. Security
Do not share OTPs, passwords, card details, mobile money PINs or account access with anyone. Pangisha staff will not ask for your mobile money PIN, full card number or CVV.
8. Help
For payment status questions, start with your landlord or property manager. For Pangisha portal issues, contact info@ggmarketing.co.ke.
